Issue


The highest priority in the process of switching to a new provider was consolidating the existing data and its re-organization on one single platform, based on pre-defined parameters.
For each of the unique hotels within the group, the booking availability via IBE was evaluated based on very specific criteria (packages, additional services, pricing). One of the most crucial features for Dorint leisure hotels was the ability to handle children rooms.
The brand DORINT needed a re-launch of their website with the requirement to manage the planning and organization process from one central point while entering the content was to be executed decentralized, meaning by the individual properties.
The existing guest loyalty program had to be taken into consideration to ensure that processes for data consolidation, re-branding, the re-launch of the website and the ability to expand the program through modules were aligned.


Starting Point


In order to seamlessly switch systems, the hotelwebservice data service department designed and executed the data extraction process out of the previously used CRS.
The re-branding needed to be supported through a modern website design and the ability to maintain relevant content decentralized by the individual hotels. That task was completed in record time based on the well-designed user access structure of our Enterprise Content Management System and the integrated picture and media data center.
Initially, the CRS-integrated booking machine was used, but was eventually replaced in 2009 by installing the hotelwebservice IBE which directly tied into the CRS. The goals were to improve the user-friendliness as well as driving bookings for additional services and children rooms.
Through a series of very specific programming steps, we were able to integrate the guest loyalty program into the website which enabled a cardholder or a company with access rights to check on their respective point balance, special rates or availability.


Development


Systems - custom-made:
An initial detailed system audit was followed by concept workshops designed to clearly define and document the needs and goals of the hotel group. Based on professional guidance and a clear strategy, each project milestone was planned by taking available resources and timing of DORINT hotels into consideration.
Modern design with contemporary applications:
For the re-launch of the DORINT website, the #1 priority was to optimize manageability and handling based on the resources and marketing concept. This requires an individually designed Enterprise CMS.
